Asiatic (panax ginseng, most in red color), and American (panax quinquefolius, natural white or yellow). Panax is derived from Greek, which means it's a cure all. Although Ginseng is not a whole healing root, undoubtedly, it has high medicinal qualities and is the best and effective adaptogen (restorative agent). Ginseng has a "universal defense action" and meets all the three requirements for an adaptogen:
1. Ginseng is non-toxic; it has no side effects; it does not create any disorder in the physiological functions of the organism.
2. The action of Ginseng is non-local or non-specific; i.e. it increases the body's resistance to adverse influences: of a physical, chemical, or biological nature.
3. Ginseng is a regulator, possessing a normalizing effect, as it regulates the normal functions of the organism. E.g. the regulating of high and low blood pressure.
Ginseng may be used widely as a restorative, the effect of which may be decisive in the treatment of various diseases. It is a potent tonic, which increases the resistance of the organism and helps it to overcome many diseases of various origins.
